As a beginner, you should start by learning the basic yoga positions. Most people may think that the blanket stretch is something that they want to work on first. If you are a man then you can also consider this as part of your practice.

The blanket stretch is simple, which means that it is easy to remember. You Should be able to do it in a short amount of time and it is great for warming up for the other yoga positions. Look at these as some of the foundation exercises for other yoga positions.

You will also want to take the time to practice on the floor, not on a mat. This is because the floor allows you to move around and to adjust your body while still maintaining the correct alignment. Remember, when you have bad postures, or no postures, you will find that your balance is affected and you will be unable to perform the other yoga positions.
